The Indiana Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (Indiana PHCC) is the largest trade association representing Indiana's professional plumbing-heating-cooling contractors and affiliated suppliers and manufacturers.

With more than 300 contractor members throughout the state, Indiana PHCC can connect you to companies that are hiring.  

Your first job within the organization will likely be something other than "Candidate for Plumbing Apprenticeship" or "Candidate for HVAC training."  They will be positions that allow leadership if you will be a good employee. Do you show up on time and every-day you are supposed to work?  Are you polite and do the work you are assigned to the best of your ability?  Do you have the skillset it will take to succeed as a apprentice or technician-in-training? Here are some position titles that you be hired to perform, as a start to your career path:  

Plumbing:  

• General Laborer: Perform a variety of manual tasks for the licensed plumber 
• Drain Cleaning Technician: Handle drain clogs, sewer line issues, and hydro-jetting.
• Water Heater Service helper: Help to install and repair water heaters (tank and tankless)

HVAC: 

• General Laborer: Perform a variety of manual tasks for the licensed HVAC technician
• Ductwork Installer: Fabricate and install duct systems under the supervision of HVAC Technician.
• Indoor Air Quality Technician Helper: Help to install air purifiers, humidifiers, and ventilation systems

There are many other roles that you could be hired to perform, but with the right attitude and you showcasing your abilities as a good employee, your goal to become a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or other skilled trade becomes your reality toward having a career-path for life.
