Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the company's logistics operations, focusing on the efficient and cost-effective import of raw materials and export of finished beverage products throughout Southeast Asia. This role requires a deep understanding of Thai customs regulations, international trade practices, and logistics best practices within the beverage manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing complex supply chains.
Key Responsibilities:
Import/Export Management:
- Manage the end-to-end import process of raw materials (ingredients, packaging) from international suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee the export process of finished beverage products to customers in Southeast Asia, adhering to all relevant regulations and customer requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all Thai customs regulations, import/export licenses, and documentation requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customs officials and relevant government agencies.
- Manage and resolve any customs clearance issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions and documentation.
- Stay updated on changes to customs regulations and trade agreements.
Logistics Operations:
- Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to optimize transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with transportation providers (sea, air, and land).
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams to ensure smooth flow of materials and products.
- Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, storage, and distribution.
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, cost per unit) and implement improvements.
- Implement and maintain a robust transportation management system (TMS) and warehouse management system (WMS).
- Optimize freight routes and modes of transportation to minimize costs and transit times.
- Manage and track shipments, resolving any delivery issues or discrepancies.
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent stockouts.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations.
- Implement and maintain an effective inventory management system.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address disruptions in the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all logistics activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in the beverage or food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Experience with cold chain logistics would be preferred
- Proven experience in import/export operations and customs clearance in Thailand.
- Strong knowledge of Thai customs regulations, international trade practices, and logistics best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using logistics software or setting up ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Thai and English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of Southeast Asian logistics landscape is highly desirable.
- Experience with perishable goods is a plus.
