Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Controller to join leadership team. This role is pivotal in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis to support our global operations and manufacturing activities. The Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control, and risk management. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in a global manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and trend analysis, to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead the development of financial models and scenarios to evaluate potential business opportunities and risks.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and internal controls.
- Manage external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Cost Management & Inventory Control:
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across the organization, particularly within manufacturing operations.
- Oversee inventory management and control, ensuring accurate valuation and minimizing obsolescence.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Implement and manage standard costing systems.
- Global Operations Support:
- Provide financial support to global operations, including international subsidiaries and joint ventures.
- Manage foreign currency transactions and mitigate foreign exchange risks.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations in international jurisdictions.
- Support transfer pricing analysis and documentation.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
- Drive cross functional collaboration.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage.
- Monitor and manage financial risks related to global operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA or CPA/CMA certification is highly preferred.
- 10-18 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a significant portion in a global manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of success in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel abroad as required.
