 Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize CAM software to generate toolpaths and programs for CNC machining, laser cutting, and other manufacturing processes.
  2. Translate CAD designs into production-ready specifications, considering material properties, tolerances, and production feasibility.
  3. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to identify potential manufacturing challenges and propose solutions.
  5. Develop and maintain CAM programming standards, templates, and best practices.
  6. Program and operate CNC machines, laser cutters, and other manufacturing equipment to produce jewelry components and prototypes.
  7. Conduct quality checks on finished components to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  8. Troubleshoot issues related to CNC programming, tooling, and machine operation.
  9. Train and mentor junior CAM technicians and production staff.
  10. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in CAD/CAM software and jewelry manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience in CAM programming and CNC machining, preferably in the jewelry industry.
  3. Proficiency in CAM software such as RhinoCAM, ArtCAM, or Mastercam.
  4. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and CNC programming techniques.
  5. Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, and other additive manufacturing technologies is a plus.
  6. Solid grasp of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  9. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
