Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Utilize CAM software to generate toolpaths and programs for CNC machining, laser cutting, and other manufacturing processes.
- Translate CAD designs into production-ready specifications, considering material properties, tolerances, and production feasibility.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to identify potential manufacturing challenges and propose solutions.
- Develop and maintain CAM programming standards, templates, and best practices.
- Program and operate CNC machines, laser cutters, and other manufacturing equipment to produce jewelry components and prototypes.
- Conduct quality checks on finished components to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Troubleshoot issues related to CNC programming, tooling, and machine operation.
- Train and mentor junior CAM technicians and production staff.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in CAD/CAM software and jewelry manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in CAM programming and CNC machining, preferably in the jewelry industry.
- Proficiency in CAM software such as RhinoCAM, ArtCAM, or Mastercam.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and CNC programming techniques.
- Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, and other additive manufacturing technologies is a plus.
- Solid grasp of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
