Multi-Modal Transportation Commercial Director

Position Overview: Lead the integrated development and execution of transportation, cross-border operations, and commercial strategies. This role oversees comprehensive logistics solutions including ground transportation, international trade operations, and revenue growth initiatives while ensuring operational excellence and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Direct end-to-end transportation operations across ground freight and cross-border movements
  • Optimize network efficiency through integrated transportation solutions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, customs authorities, and strategic partners
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and transportation safety standards
  • Implement innovative solutions for complex multi-modal transportation challenges
  • Monitor and improve operational KPIs across all transport modes

Commercial Leadership:

  • Drive revenue growth and market expansion across all service lines
  • Lead major account acquisition and relationship management
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies for diverse service offerings
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities
  • Oversee contract negotiations with key clients and service providers
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape

Strategic Planning:

  • Design and implement comprehensive logistics network strategies
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service quality
  • Develop integrated solutions for complex supply chain requirements
  • Coordinate with global offices to enhance network connectivity
  • Drive technological adoption across operations
  • Manage annual budgets and resource allocation

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in transportation management, including ground freight and cross-border operations
  • Proven track record in commercial leadership and revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures
  • Demonstrated success in P&L management and cost optimization
  • Experience in strategic account management and client relationship development
  • Deep knowledge of transportation industry dynamics and market trends

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics management
  • Proven success in managing large-scale transportation operations
  • Strong background in commercial strategy and business development
  • Experience with transportation management systems and relevant technology platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
