About the job Process Safety Engineer Specialist (Energy, Eastern Seaboard)
Responsibilities:
- Process Safety Management (PSM): Lead, plan, and provide support on all PSM, HSE risk management, and loss prevention initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant international standards and continuously improve processes to prevent accidents and reduce potential risks.
- Risk Assessment: Facilitate and conduct various risk assessments, including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis), and incident investigations.
- Compliance and Standards: Advise on, and ensure adherence to, industry codes and regulations (e.g., OSHA, API, ASME) and internal company standards.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs on process safety to promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
- Team Leadership: Maintain high morale and team spirit by advising, training, and motivating team members to perform at a high professional standard.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
- Proven experience in Process Safety Management within the energy, oil & gas, or petrochemical industry.
- Familiarity with PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- A recognized certification in safety (e.g., NEBOSH, HAZOP leader) is a plus.
- Good command of English.
