The Cost Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting activities in alignment with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, manages cost-related accounting tasks, and provides analytical reports to support effective decision-making by senior management.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Financial Control
  • Perform complex accounting activities to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Set up, calculate, and maintain accurate product cost structures and cost models.
  • Conduct cost variance analysis, cost of goods sold (COGS) review, and monitor cost trends to support budgeting and forecasting.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including cost analysis reports, monthly cost of quality, and profitability reports.
  • Check and analyze financial data to support management with timely and accurate information for financial decisions.
  • Reconcile accounts and verify the accuracy of journal entries to ensure completeness and correctness of financial records.
Inventory Control
  • Lead and support inventory counting processes (cycle count and full physical count).
  • Monitor and control inventory transactions, adjustments, and discrepancies.
  • Ensure inventory valuation accuracy and adherence to inventory accounting standards.
Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure all accounting practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost accounting processes and enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, supply chain, finance) to ensure data integrity and cost transparency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or manufacturing accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of cost setup, cost calculation, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with complex data sets.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
