Procurement Manager (Food Industry)
Job Description:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies including sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, evaluate product quality, pricing, and delivery terms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and quality assurance, to ensure business goals are aligned
- Manage vendor relationships and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and service standards
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of food products and ingredients to make informed purchasing decisions and mitigate supply chain risks
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely communication and prompt resolution of any issues or disputes that may arise
- Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and systems to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory compliances
- Optimise inventory levels by implementing effective demand forecasting methods and maintaining accurate records of stock levels, usage, and lead times
- Identify opportunities for cost savings improvements, implement initiatives, track and report on key procurement performance metrics
- Experience and familiar with import and export procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields
- Proven 5 years and above of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of food products, ingredients, and supply chain dynamics
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and optimising procurement processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt to changing market conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Proficient in using procurement software and systems for tracking, reporting, and analysing procurement data
