We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Solution Consultant professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in bridging our technical solutions with customer requirements, providing expert guidance, and ensuring successful solution design and delivery. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies, including AI and HPC infrastructure, while collaborating closely with sales and technical teams to drive business growth.
Duties and responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team to understand clients' business requirements and translate them into infrastructure solutions (short-term projects and long-term strategic direction).
- Design and architect end-to-end infrastructure solutions, including scoping services and effort, using best practices and standards. Solution elements include network topology, LAN/WAN, WAN optimisation, security (firewalls, SASE/SSE, ZTNA, VPN, identity etc), servers/compute, virtualization, SAN/NAS storage, backup & recovery, HA/DR.
- Analyse existing infrastructure (network, compute, storage, backup/disaster recovery, security controls) to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate technology options and provide cost-/benefit analyses (TCO, ROI) and make recommendations on which solutions to adopt.
- Respond to technical specifications in Tenders and RFPs: define system configurations and recommendations, craft proposals, articulate value of infrastructure solution.
- Provide technical leadership: review & validate vendor/partner designs, set standards and best practices for infrastructure design and lifecycle.
- Deliver presentations and proof-of-concept demonstrations, both internally and externally, on relevant product solutions.
- Ensure smooth transition of solution from pre-sales (solution design) to implementation team (delivery).
- Resolve technical questions by analysing and researching the problems.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and product releases.
- Mentor junior solution engineers (SEs) and serve as a consultant to the internal sales team to disseminate technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant pre-sales and solution architecting experience in a systems integrator (SI) environment.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in networking, security, storage, servers /virtualization and backup solutions, with vendor-specific technologies (Cisco, Huawei, Palo Alto, Infoblox, Dell, NetApp, HPE, VMware, Commvault, Cohesity etc).
- Proficient in multi-tiered IT architecture solution design.
- Good understanding of current solution offerings of major vendors (Dell, NetApp, VMware, Nutanix, Cisco etc).
- Good experience in leading/managing IT infrastructure solution in RFP and Tender requirements.
Required Knowledge Domain (Technical Specialties)
Mandatory: Networking – e.g., technologies (Cisco, Huawei, Aruba, Mellanox), routing & switching, LAN/WAN, VPN, and secure network architecture etc.
At least two of the following domains:
- Security architecture: technologies e.g. Palo Alto, CheckPoint, Fortinet, Infoblox, F5, Zscaler; firewalls, SASE/SSE, VPN tunnelling
- Enterprise Storage (NAS/SAN): technologies (e.g. Dell, NetApp, Pure, Huawei, Hitachi) and data-protection knowledge
- Backup solutions: technologies (e.g. Veeam, Veritas, Cohesity, Commvault) and backup/recovery strategies
- Servers & Virtualization / Multi-Cloud / Hybrid Cloud: technologies (e.g. Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Supermicro, Cisco, Nutanix, VMware, RedHat)
Preferred but Not Mandatory
Professional certifications:
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP
- Dell EMCIE / EMCTA (Storage/Backup)
- VMWare VCP (DCV/NSX)
- NetApp NCDA / NCIE
