The Role

We are undergoing an exciting time in our evolution and now seek to add a highly motivated, enthusiastic Cyber Security Technician to our Cybersecurity division. This role will draw upon your knowledge of Microsoft and Linux systems, as well as Networking and Cybersecurity technologies. You will initially support senior colleagues to carry out a variety of services including Vulnerability Assessments, investigation of security incidents, penetration tests and cyber-attack monitoring, eventually working towards completing these independently.

As a Cyber Security Technician, you will be responsible for interacting with a range of clients, using excellent communication skills along with your proven technical ability to provide a first-class customer experience. You will also be required to create high-quality reports from your findings, discussing solutions with a variety of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments
  • Research/evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats and ways to manage them
  • Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders
  • Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorised or illegal activity
  • Investigate security alerts and provide incident response
  • Carry out Vulnerability Assessments and communicate directly with clients
  • Assist senior team members in carry out penetration tests
  • Work to company agreed procedures including client SLAs
  • Liaise with customers in relation to cybersecurity issues and provide future recommendations
  • Build effective working relationships and become a trusted advisor for clients
  • Ensure that all services are carried out efficiently and correctly, meeting internal business and client expectations

Person Specification

Essential:

Hands-on experience with the following:

  • Microsoft and Linux Server administration and management
  • Networking and Workplace technologies
  • Cybersecurity and related technologies
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a customer-service or customer-facing role
  • Demonstrable organisation skills, with a logical approach to problem solving
  • Proven ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and cope with fluctuations in workloads
  • Knowledge of industry best practice, and incident management disciplines and networking principles
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK (We do not currently hold a visa sponsorship licence)
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment DBS check and a Counter Terrorist Check if successful, due to the nature of our client

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a Cybersecurity role
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (C, C#, Python, Go, NIM etc)
  • Experience in Cyber Security CTFs (Hack The Box, TryHackMe etc)

Salary: Market Related based on experience
