Graphic Design Team Leader
Job Description:
Our client in the Online Betting & Gambling industry located in Umhlanga is looking for a Graphic Design Team Leader to join their organisation.
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the Graphic Design Team, ensuring all design requirements are met from concept to delivery. The role involves allocating tasks based on skill sets and priorities, mentoring designers, and maintaining high standards of quality and brand consistency. The Team Leader also represents the design team in client meetings and collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the design teams daily operations.
- Ensure quality and consistency in all design outputs.
- Act as liaison between designers and other departments.
- Manage job requests using a ticketing system and allocate tasks accordingly.
- Develop and implement departmental processes and systems.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings and ensure alignment on priorities.
- Monitor progress against briefs, deadlines, and schedules.
- Attend campaign meetings and brief the team on design requirements.
- Review and refine draft designs before submission.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and legal standards.
- Maintain organized design files and stock libraries.
- Generate reports on job volumes and timelines.
- Support designers with research and technical projects.
- Mentor interns and junior designers.
- Assign design champions and leverage team strengths.
- Confirm print specifications with suppliers and ensure readiness.
- Stay updated on design trends and relevant training opportunities.
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or related field
Experience
- 5+ years in a design-related position essential
