Manager - Financial Due Diligence
Job Description:
Our Deal Advisory practice provides holistic client solutions for buying, selling, partnering, funding and fixing. As part of this, our Transaction Services (TS) team focuses on due diligence assistance in relation to acquisitions, disposals, public and private bids/mergers, joint ventures, buy-outs, market entry, financing, IPOs and other transactions. The team also helps clients identify upside opportunities and risks in their transaction processes to satisfy due diligence requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:

As a Manager, you will have a significant team management role in delivering on mandates. The practice focuses on key closely-related service offerings:
- Pre-deal Evaluations - Undertaking public domain due diligence to provide an objective initial assessment of the financial and commercial position of potential acquisition or merger targets
- Buy-side Financial Due Diligence - Using investigative analysis to assess the key issues facing a target business and the drivers of its historic and projected profits and cash flows and other factors having a bearing on the proposed transaction
- Vendor Assistance - Providing services to vendors ranging from evaluating disposal options through to various post-sale actions and obligations
- Vendor Due Diligence - Compiling objective information to help vendors make sound business decisions and to facilitate the buy-side due diligence process of potential purchasers
Responsibilities
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to lead/manage/participate in buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, providing financial due diligence, divestiture support and post deal assistance to major corporate, MNC and private equity clients
- Incisive analysis of Target company data to identify historical and projected financial and operational trends and issues, net debt, quality of earnings, working capital considerations and potential liabilities and risks which may impact valuation of the Target company
- Project management including engagement set-up and planning, execution of fieldwork, drafting and presentation of high-quality proposals and reports to clients, coordination of due diligence activities and the review of transaction documentation
Practice Development
You are expected to:
- Work closely with other Managers, Directors and Partners
- Train junior staff and contribute to the overall skills enhancement and experience of the practice to build and develop a high-quality team
- Manage clients proactively, making client service a main priority and culture of the practice
Business Development
You will support the growth of our TS practice by:
- Building, commercializing and sustaining relationships with top client management team members.
- Developing TS offerings focusing on specific themes and/or clients across sectors.
- Regularly providing input into horizon scanning activities and discussing asset opportunities with clients
- Actively participating in responding to Requests for Proposal for TS mandates
- Supporting positioning the team and KPMGs profile in the marketplace and develop business through industry involvement, contribution to internal and external publications, and presentation at conferences and industry events

- Previous experience advising on TS projects will be required
- Experience across sectors and client types
- Comfortable working within a project team environment, producing high-quality deliverables, managing and motivating teams
- Ability to contribute to business development

Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from a reputable university
- Professional accountancy qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
