AM/ Senior Associate - Mergers & Acquisition

Role and Responsibilities

You will assume an active role on the below

As a Senior Associate, you will have a key role in providing strategic and financial advice on raising capital, helps with decisions on where to invest, uncovers new opportunities, and provides rigorous M&A support pre, during and post deal, including:

  • Target identification and evaluation
  • M&A (buy-side, sell-side) due diligence and synergy cases
  • JV and partnership strategy
  • Refinancing and restructuring
  • Exit strategies, divestments and carve-outs
  • IPO support
  • Integration/separation planning and execution

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the origination and execution of M&A and Advisory related transactions
  • Work on a diverse range of mandates, including buy side, sell side and corporate advisory mandates
  • Work with a broad range of clients ranging from publicly listed companies, large private companies and private equity (PE) groups
  • Prepare M&A documents including proposals, engagement letters, teasers, and information memorandums
  • Conduct valuation using different approaches such as DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions
  • Conduct market research and in-depth analysis on market trend, prospect, key players, drivers of different industries
  • Support the day-to-day responsibility of execution on transactions, including interaction with clients and advisors
  • Identify issues and form hypotheses and solutions in a structured approach
  • Preparing and analyzing financial statements, conducting complex analysis on excel, and developing financial models
  • Assuming responsibility of deliverables and collaborating with team members to deliver solutions

Practice Development

You are expected to:

  • Work closely with Managers, Directors and Partners
  • Support development of junior staff and contribute to the overall skills enhancement and experience of the sector to build and develop a high-quality team
  • Manage clients proactively, making client service a main priority and culture of the practice

Business Development

You will support the development of our M&A practice by:

  • Adopting a structured approach to identify, investigate, and pursue business development opportunities to generate future revenue for the team
  • Assist in responding to Requests for Proposal for M&A advisory mandates and prepare high quality business proposals and presentations

In Summary

  • Previous experience advising on M&A transactions
  • Experience in valuation, business plan development and review
  • Comfortable working within a project team environment, producing high-quality deliverables
  • Ability to contribute to business development

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance from a reputable university

MBA in Finance, CA, CFA, CPA or other relevant professional certificates will be an advantage
