Paralegal

 Job Description:

Paralegal - Property


To support the partners and associates in order to deliver the Property team strategy by providing a high quality and efficient administration service across a broad range of tasks and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in drafting a range of legal documents
  • Reviewing and summarising legal and other documents
  • Performing legal research and analysis including document disclosure exercises
  • Supporting fee earners with the preparation of basic deeds based on precedents
  • Organising site visits, client meetings, court dates as required
  • Attending client meetings/calls with fee earners and taking notes
  • Assist with the management and co-ordination of transactions from initial advice/instruction through to matter conclusion
  • Updating the Client Relationship Management system
  • Assisting with proof-reading and general file management (e.g. saving documents to the correct folders, etc.)
  • Assisting with matter opening and the client take-on/CDD processes
  • Assisting with monthly billing, WIP lists and processing expense claims and fee earner time entries
  • Supporting the team's marketing and business development initiatives
  • Carrying out additional supporting tasks and projects as may be delegated by the partners and associates
  • Working flexibly as a team member with the department to ensure there is support cover throughout the working week to meet the client needs.
  • Providing administration and support to fee earners as required
  • Adhering to all policies, procedures and regulations as required

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-level standard or equivalent, or has an academic degree
  • Preferably having or working towards a legal or administrative qualification

Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Experience in a similar role and professional environment preferable
  • Confident user of technology and IT systems, to include MS Office and 365
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness and the ability to learn and develop knowledge of the law
  • Experience using a document management system is beneficial but not essential
