Job summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure, this is a key role, liaising with the business on operational and support matters and managing projects with significant business touch points.

As a small Technology department, this role will touch all areas of the business, but the focus of the postholder will initially be

Regions: London, Southampton, IOM (will be supported from Jersey, with travel expected every quarter)

Job accountabilities:

To act as the Technology Lead for allocated regions/business areas/functions in the following areas:

Meet regularly with management of the regions focused above to ensure service levels are being achieved, and any localised technology issues and requirements are dealt with.

Visit offices, maintain local IT Infrastructure, and develop relationships with local IT providers.

Manage a range of projects including web portal development, integration, product selection and implementation, upgrades, and deployments.

Define, communicate, and reinforce the project implementation plan to all parties involved in the deployment of a new or upgraded technology deployment.

Conduct regular project meetings to monitor progress utilising and maintaining standard Project Management documentation to ensure project planning, actions, issues, and risks are managed and reported, along with providing project status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Provide UAT support and validate the Go-live activities such as production verification to ensure issues are promptly and kept to a minimum.

Provide IT advisory and user support to Group users as required.

Such other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum education and experience

Minimum of 8 years relevant experience to include IT infrastructure and project management.

Successful attainment of Prince 2, or similar, is desirable but not essential,

Proven problem solving, research and troubleshooting skills.

Proven communication skills to enable interaction with individuals at all levels along with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.

Demonstrated ability to use, understand and interpret best practice and to ensure compliance thereof.
