Corporate Associate Director

About the Role

As an Associate Director of the Corporate Division in Jersey, you will be an integral part of the senior management team responsible for development, growth, and the operational excellence for our Corporate Services team in Jersey. You will also be responsible for managing the administration team and ensuring the control framework, policies and procedures and risk management environment are in place to run a legal and regulatory compliant business, working closely with the Head of Corporate Services and the Compliance team to instil a top-down compliance-led culture.

  • Take ownership of the Jersey Corporate division administration team management (alongside the management team), work alongside the Head of Corporate and Client Service Director to develop a best-in-class approach to client service and operational excellence
  • Create strong relationships with other business lines, peers, and colleagues to ensure effective visibility and increased workability to deliver the wider jurisdiction and divisional business plan alongside the senior leadership team
  • Lead larger client relationships, ensuring their needs are fulfilled by the team with strong governance considerations and timely execution of activities at the forefront of the teams mind
  • Foster a culture of compliance-led operational excellence to ensure the business operates and grows in a well-structured manner, which may include assisting the Head of Corporate with engaging with divisional counterparties to develop a cross-jurisdiction best in class operating model
  • Build a strong team with the required skill sets, support career development, conduct regular 121s, set clear and achievable objective and provide feedback through effect coaching
  • Responsible for self and teams time charging and billing and collection of outstanding fees within the relevant timeframes
  • This role falls within the scope of the Senior Management Regime, as per the notice issued by the JFSC on 12 January 2023
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be requested from time to time

About You

You will be a Jersey Entitled resident with good communication and organisation skills with the ability to work well with others. You will be an experienced individual with a strong knowledge of Corporate structures. The following attributes would also be advantageous:

  • Experience operating at a senior leadership level, within a Corporate Services environment
  • A relevant professional table 4 qualification recognised by the JFSC, such as STEP/ICSA Diploma (now CGI)
  • Strong knowledge of all risk and compliance regulation relevant to Jersey
  • Experience managing and developing a team in a busy, fast paced environment, focused on delivering best in class service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • A solution-drive attitude to problems
  • The ability to work using your own initiative and make decisions within corporate policies
