Associate Director
Job Description:
To lead and manage a portfolio of Corporate related clients and provide a range of services to meet specific needs and expectations of these clients in accordance with relevant laws and regulations including the TCB Code of Practice and our Policies and Procedures Manual. To develop a pipeline and win new business in line with the strategic objectives of the business and service line.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service
To effectively manage a portfolio of more complex client relationships, ensuring the provision of technical expertise and service to meet the specific needs and expectations of those clients.
When challenges arise, evaluate scenarios and identify reputational and/or financial risks and take responsibility for managing these situations whilst delivering innovative and client focused solutions on a timely basis.
When delegating, to ensure the client's requirements are fully understood and delivery of service excellence of the unique sensitivities in terms of the services we provide.
To maintain a relevant knowledge of issues affecting the service line and share with the team.
Serve as a B Signatory on the signing mandate.
Become a trusted adviser to our clients.
Business Development
To proactively identify new opportunities to expand the client base through raising awareness of the services we can offer to both existing and new intermediaries.
To proactively build on the existing portfolio with a focus on developing an offering to sit alongside and complement our existing services.
To develop and record business development opportunities in Plainsail.
To present monthly updates detailing targets, pipeline and results.
To become recognised as an industry expert through publishing relevant articles on the website.
Financial Management
To propose the targets each year.
To translate financial targets into quarterly and daily billable targets.
Be responsible for achieving billing and chargeable hours targets for the services delivered.
To review team timesheets on a regular basis and ensure only billable time is recorded and appropriate narratives are used for client correspondence.
Compliance and Risk
Promptly notify the Client Acceptance & Risk Committee of any relevant matters.
To meet Anti Money Laundering and CDD obligations and the P&P manual.
To complete any necessary and relevant CPD.
People
Participate in team meetings addressing current work, outstanding work and any other matters arising within, or impacting, the team.
Oversee the day-to-day management for the delivery of services ensuring people are working efficiently and effectively.
To act as a first point of contact for team members with technical or client related queries.
To provide regular and informal feedback to direct report(s).
Set relevant and stretching objectives for team members and carry out regular (minimum of quarterly for team members) performance and development conversations and record on the people system.
To effectively support trainees by developing and updating a comprehensive Corporate Services Seat training programme with learning outcomes to be achieved.
Set trainee objectives at the beginning of the seat, hold and record monthly performance check-ins and end of seat review with a meaningful handover to next Trainee Manager.
Participate in Trainee Manager meetings.
To proactively attract people to the business.
Qualifications and Experience
University Degree preferred.
Table 4 or 5 - Professional qualification, either Corporate Governance, legal, accounting, together with evidence of PQE or additional qualifications (e.g. LLB, ACA, CSI UK & I).
Industry experience with a broad understanding of current trends and developments in this sector.
Thorough knowledge of regulatory issues relating to Trust Company Business and a thorough understanding of best practice in anti-money laundering and corporate governance.
Relevant experience in a senior position within industry.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in all forms to clients and professional advisers.
Established in developing revenue from new and existing clients in a controlled and compliant environment.
