Role Description

These roles are ideally suited to bright and enthusiastic trainees interested in developing skills across the Intellectual Property (IP) field. You will join a lively and busy team of over 40 professionals, consultants and administrators, supporting either theĀ Trade Marks or Patents team depending on your interests and skill-set.

There are places available for 12 month Fixed Term Contracts and a Permanent placement.

Attention to detail, strong organisation, clear communication and teamwork are key to this role.

Role Responsibilities

Depending on department placement (Trade Marks or Patents), responsibilities may include:

  • Following client instructions to prepare and file new trade mark, patent, utility model or design matters for submission at registries across Africa and the Caribbean.
  • Reporting to clients regarding key stages in the progress of their IP matters.
  • Processing certificates of registration, Letters Patent and related official documents.
  • Answering standard enquiries from clients, local registries, associates and the offices.
  • Enquiring as to the status of IP matters from registries, associates and the offices.
  • Generating invoices and general correspondence.
  • Administering and updating the electronic filing systems and databases.
  • Any other responsibility as required by our team.
