Our client is looking for a Trust Officer to join our team. You will work alongside supportive peers, managers and Directors, and you will also build strong relationships with the clients and their advisers.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering thoughtful, diligent administration of a portfolio of high net worth clients, ensuring a personalised service
  • Developing a deep understanding of your client structures, background and objectives
  • Supporting the relevant manager or director with onboarding new clients
  • Meeting clients and their advisers with a senior colleague
  • Acting as a proactive team player and supporting smooth day to day administration
  • Ensuring all activities reflect and respect our ethical charter and regulatory responsibilities
  • Preparing minutes, processing payments, monitoring KPIs and maintaining accurate records
  • Assisting with reviews, financial statements, action points, billing and fee follow up
  • Identifying and escalating issues or risks promptly
  • Contributing to process improvements and helping refine the way we work
  • Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of junior colleagues where appropriate

Qualifications and Skills

Essential
  • Must have Entitled for Work status i.e. minimum of 5 years residency in Jersey
  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience, specifically a strong track record in the Trust Sector / Private Client administration.
  • A strong understanding of Jersey trust and company legislation, regulation and industry practice
  • Experience managing a varied portfolio, with growing exposure to more complex structures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisation, accuracy and time management
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and exercise sound judgement
  • Collaborative approach and a willingness to support colleagues
  • Working towards or obtained the STEP Diploma in Offshore Trust Management and/or CGI Diploma/professional in Offshore Finance and Administration

Desirable
  • Experience preparing accurate trust and company minutes
  • An understanding of UK tax matters relevant to offshore trusts and companies
  • Familiarity with systems such as Quantios (NAV) and Microsoft Office
