Our client are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Officer to join the Support Services team on a six-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Practice Director, this role will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, credit control, and financial administration.

Key Responsibilities
As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Setting up and processing payments through online banking systems.
- Managing the credit control process and proactively following up outstanding debts.
- Issuing customer statements and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Preparing and issuing client invoices in a timely manner.
- Managing the end-to-end billing process.
- Maintaining and reconciling the accounts receivable ledger.
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries.
- Supporting financial reporting activities as required.
- Assisting with maintaining effective financial controls and processes.
- Ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) or significant relevant finance experience.
- Previous experience in a finance role covering:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Credit control
- Invoicing and billing
- Financial reporting support
- Good working knowledge of finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience working within a professional services, legal, or consultancy environment.
- Experience using practice management or finance software systems.
