Business Intelligence Analyst

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will contribute to transforming our raw data into actionable insights. Your growing expertise will help interpret datasets and present them in a clear, compelling manner. By developing your analytical skills and business acumen, you'll provide valuable intelligence that supports informed decision-making across our organisation.

We're seeking an analytical thinker who can build effective reports and dashboards while developing the skills to translate data into clear, actionable insights for colleagues. Your ability to learn and grow in communicating data stories will contribute to team decisions. The insights you generate will support our operations, client service quality, and overall business growth.

About the role

You will be responsible for creating data visualisation solutions that are both visually appealing and functionally effective. You will work collaboratively with teams across the Group to understand their needs and translate these into visual analytics that inform and drive action by:

  • Building and maintaining business intelligence solutions (primarily PowerBI dashboards) that effectively communicate data insights and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Working with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and delivering solutions that meet their needs.

  • Supporting data accuracy and integrity efforts, helping to build confidence in analytics outputs across the company.

  • Assisting with training sessions to help teams utilise the analytics tools and dashboards available.

  • Learning and applying new business intelligence tools and data visualisation techniques to improve your work.

  • Collaborating with Data Engineers and other specialists in the Data & Analytics team to deliver comprehensive solutions.

  • Contributing to team knowledge sharing and participating in peer reviews to support continuous improvement.

About you - essential requirements

  • Experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, with examples of dashboards and analytics solutions you've created.

  • Working proficiency in at least one business intelligence tool (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Looker) and eagerness to learn new tools.

  • Solid SQL skills for data querying and basic familiarity with data manipulation languages such as DAX.

  • Good design sense, with the ability to create clear and user-friendly data presentations.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining your work to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • The ability to manage your workload effectively and handle multiple projects with appropriate guidance.

  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for learning from senior team members.

  • Have exposure to the financial services or legal sector would be desirable but not essential.

  • Understand basic data privacy principles.

  • Have a degree or are working towards a professional qualification in a data-related field would be an advantage

  • Are passionate about data visualisation and actively explore new techniques and best practices.

  • Have some experience with Python or R for data analysis.
