OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

We are representing the energy-transition division of a global leader in floating power generation — operator of one of the world's largest fleets of floating power plants, with an operating footprint spanning multiple continents. The business delivers flexible, blended power solutions that combine floating power plants with battery storage, generators, turbines and engines.

With AI-driven demand outpacing grid supply, our client is building a dedicated Data Centre Power Solutions practice and is already in dialogue with leading global data centre operators. This is a senior commercial appointment to own data centre power-solution sales across Southeast Asia and convert that demand into signed power contracts.

As the regional lead for data centre power solutions, you will define how a highly differentiated proposition is taken to one of the fastest-growing markets in the world. The remit blends business development, solution design and senior relationship management — directly shaping how operators secure the reliable, fast-track power their facilities depend on. The company's floating-power-led solutions have no direct equivalent in the region, giving the right person a rare and compelling story to sell.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD

Business Development & Sales

  • Own data centre power-solution sales across Southeast Asia (6–7 markets), managing the full cycle from engagement to signed contract.
  • Engage the Asia divisions, agencies and power/infrastructure decision-makers of major global data centre operators.
  • Build and maintain a strong regional network and market intelligence across the data centre and power sectors.

Solution Design & Technical Liaison

  • Understand each operator's power, energy and infrastructure requirements and translate them into tailored, blended proposals (floating power plants, battery systems, generators, turbines and engines).
  • Act as the bridge between operators and the company's technical and commercial teams, shaping specifications and commercial structures.
  • Draw on a large, diversified fleet of available power-generation equipment to match operator demand to the right solution.

Representation & Relationships

  • Represent the company at industry events and on-site visits, including hosting operators visiting the fleet in the region.
  • Travel frequently across the region (~70–80%) to meet customers face-to-face.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4–5+ years in the data centre industry in Asia, with an established network among data centre operators.
  • Genuine knowledge of the power / energy sector and how power requirements map to data centre operations.
  • Demonstrated business development or solutions-sales capability, with a track record of building relationships and closing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a confident, face-to-face seller comfortable with heavy regional travel.
  • Fluent English; based in or able to relocate to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore or Thailand.
  • Engineering degree or strong technical foundation preferred; Bahasa Malaysia / Indonesia an advantage.

  • Exposure to power-solutions providers (generators, gensets, battery storage, turbines, temporary or distributed power) or to data centre developers and operators.
  • Career progression across more than one organisation, or start-up / entrepreneurial experience, signalling drive and adaptability.
  • Proactive ownership mindset, commercially sharp, and credible with senior client stakeholders.
