Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth, leading high-performing teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to our clients most significant clients. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our market reputation, developing their people, and contributing to the strategic direction of their audit practice.


Key Responsibilities

1. Client Leadership & Business Development:

  • Lead, manage, and expand a significant portfolio of listed company audits and high-profile IPO engagements.
  • Act as the key point of contact and trusted business advisor for C-suite executives and Audit Committee chairs.
  • Drive the firm's business development strategy for the capital markets sector, identifying and securing new audit and assurance opportunities.
  • Leverage an extensive network of contacts within the HK business community, investment banks, law firms, and private equity to generate new leads.

2. IPO & Capital Markets Specialization:

  • Serve as the Engagement Leader and Key Audit Partner for complex IPO projects, guiding clients through the entire listing process on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX).
  • Provide expert advice on HKEX listing rules, IFRS, and regulatory requirements relevant to IPO candidates.
  • Lead the execution of reporting accountant services, including the preparation of working capital reports, profit forecasts, and long-form reports.
  • Liaise effectively with regulators, including the HKEX and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

3. Audit Quality & Technical Excellence:

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality audit services in compliance with the firm's global audit methodology and all relevant professional and regulatory standards (HKICPA, IFRS, etc.).
  • Provide ultimate sign-off on audit opinions for a portfolio of listed and other public interest entities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team.

4. Team Leadership & People Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a large team of managers and senior staff, acting as a role model and coach.
  • Drive the recruitment, retention, and development of top talent, with a focus on building future leaders for the firm.
  • Create an inclusive and high-performance environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant: Must hold a CPA qualification from a recognized body (e.g., HKICPA) or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
  • Partner Track Record: Proven experience as an Audit Partner, or a Director with a clear and imminent path to partnership, at a major international accounting firm.
  • Deep IPO Expertise: A demonstrable and extensive track record of leading and successfully delivering multiple IPO engagements for clients listing on the HKEX. Experience with both Main Board and GEM listings is highly valued.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Hong Kong auditing standards, IFRS, and corporate governance codes. Familiarity with US GAAP and SEC regulations is a strong advantage.
  • Client Portfolio: The ability to transfer and grow a significant client portfolio is highly desirable.
  • Leadership & Influence: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at the most senior levels.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strong commercial mindset with a proven ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly advantageous for effective client and market engagement.
