We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and oversee our high-profile data center projects in Singapore.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mission-critical data center construction projects in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional stakeholder management, and deep technical knowledge of data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for large-scale, complex data center construction projects from initial concept through to commissioning and handover.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet defined scope, quality, time, and cost objectives.
Stakeholder & Contract Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal senior management.
- Lead contract negotiations, administer main contracts and subcontracts, and manage variations and claims.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical direction and oversight for all data center systems, including power (HV/MV/LV), cooling (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water), structured cabling, security, and fire protection.
- Ensure designs and installations comply with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Review and approve method statements, technical submittals, and shop drawings.
Safety, Quality & Compliance:
- Ensuring strict adherence to local regulations and company HSE policies on-site.
- Implement and maintain robust quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with all local building codes and statutory requirements.
Team & Resource Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary project team, including engineers, site supervisors, and contractors.
- Efficiently allocate resources and manage direct and indirect labor to achieve project milestones.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years specifically in managing data center construction or major M&E installation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects in Singapore.
- In-depth technical knowledge of critical data center infrastructure and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in managing main contractors, subcontractors, and complex supply chains.
- Excellent understanding of Singapore's construction regulations, WSH standards, and building codes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet stringent deadlines.
