Asia IT Lead

 Job Description:

The Asia Head of Information Technology (covering Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia) will hold primary responsibility for shaping and executing the organizations overall technology strategy in alignment with its mission and objectives. This role encompasses the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all IT functions, including infrastructure, systems, and digital initiatives. The Head of IT will oversee resource allocation, staff supervision, coaching, training, and professional development within the IT team to ensure optimal performance and capability building. In addition, the position is accountable for ensuring operational continuity, robust cybersecurity, data protection, and the ongoing innovation of technology solutions to enhance organizational efficiency and strengthen program delivery.

Responsibilities:

IT Strategy Development and IT Governance

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals. Proactively understand user requirements to improve the companys hardware, network and software solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, specifically AI and RPA, to improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee IT policies, compliance and best practice for data security and risk management.
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality services.
  • Train, advice and support staff on career development.
  • Incidents and requests management
  • Manage the incident response process, ensuring all incidents are properly logged, prioritized, and resolved within agreed timelines, while conducting root cause analysis for major incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Cybersecurity
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor systems for security breaches and respond to incidents.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and staff training on IT security best practices.
  • Hardware & Infrastructure Management and Vendor Management
  • Evaluate life-cycle and effectiveness of companys hardware / software, source and recommend qualified infrastructure, vendors and partners on projects execution to achieve cost and operational efficiency
  • Manage IT budget, procurement, and inventory, and maintain comprehensive IT documentation.
  • Liaise and negotiate with vendors, manage agreements and oversee IT process;
  • Collaborate with other departments/users for system enhancements and development, use stakeholders' feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication between users and IT teams.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in similar roles, engineering industry experience is a plus
  • Proven experience in implementing enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Microsoft 365), delivering digital projects (e.g., AI and RPA adoption), and change management.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, cloud, servers, storage, security), with the ability to oversee architecture, scalability, and vendor management to ensure resilience and efficiency.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) are considered an advantage but are not mandatory.
  • Strong leadership with excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Willing to travel across Asia
  • Fluent in Cantonese and Chinese (spoken & written); proficiency in English is also required.
