Power Generator Installation Manager

 Job Description:

We are looking for a proficient Diesel Power Generation Installation Manager to oversee the installation, management, and handover of critical power generation systems for our data centres. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable and timely deployment of backup power infrastructure, managing resources, and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end installation process for diesel generator sets and associated systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
  • Lead and manage the site installation team, including daily work allocation, performance assessment, and skills development.
  • Develop and monitor detailed project installation schedules, ensuring progress is on track and managing any deviations.
  • Oversee all aspects of on-site quality control and safety, conducting regular inspections and ensuring all work complies with design and safety standards.
  • Manage project costs, including the review and approval of material selections, procurement, and subcontractor costs.
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Design, Procurement, Finance) and external parties (e.g., Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors) to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee the management and iterative improvement of prefabricated power solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in the installation and management of diesel generator systems, preferably within critical infrastructure or data centres.
  • Proven experience in managing construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and method statements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to coordinate complex projects.
  • Solid understanding of quality and safety management systems in a construction environment.
