Our client is a leading developer and operator of AI and cloud hyperscale data centers in Asia, headquartered in Singapore.

About the Role:

Based at our client's Johor Data Center, the BMS Engineer will report to the Systems Manager and serve as the primary technical contact for all system-related matters. This role requires a deep understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS), with a strong ability to analyze, clarify, and negotiate technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the establishment of Data Center Building Management Systems (BMS) for new and existing setups, covering design, integration, testing, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), installation, commissioning, and warranty.
  • Liaise with contractors for daily BMS operations and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support for Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and integration testing during project handover and transition phases.
  • Ensure continuous BMS operations through timely system maintenance of instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems to maximize uptime.
  • Review performance databases and initiate corrective actions for system performance improvement.
  • Respond promptly to all fault finding, diagnosis, and recovery of systems during breakdowns.
  • Support the development of real-time dashboard platforms for capacity loading monitoring, ensuring compliance with maintenance regimes and contractual agreements.
  • Assist in the development of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to support Critical Facility teams with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) forecasting, budgeting, purchasing, and cost control.
  • Draft, review, and revise operational documents, including but not limited to Emergency Procedures, Operating Procedures, Project Tender Specifications, and Change Management documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or Building Services.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BMS, EPMS, FMCS, or industrial control systems, with a preference for experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in BMS architecture, control systems integration, and system troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fire protection, and facility monitoring systems.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior engineers or technical teams is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with BMS/EPMS platforms, Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with root cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including vendors, operations teams, and project teams.
