Quantity Surveyor (Data Center Project)

Our client is a leading international construction and engineering firm specializing in the delivery of mission-critical facilities. We are at the forefront of building state-of-the-art data centers across the Asia-Pacific region. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team and contribute to a major, high-profile data center project in Thailand.


Role Objective:

To provide expert cost and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to final account. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered within budget, all financial risks are identified and managed, and the company's commercial interests are protected, in accordance with the contract.


Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract & Tendering:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier tenders, conducting detailed comparisons and making recommendations for award.
  • Participate in commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Post-Contract & Cost Control:

  • Manage the project budget, monitoring expenditures and forecasting final costs (EAC).
  • Prepare and submit monthly interim applications for payment to the client, in line with the contract.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractors' monthly payment applications (interim valuations).

Contract Administration:

  • Administer the main contract and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Provide advice on contractual matters and identify potential commercial risks and opportunities.

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the project manager, site engineers, and planning team to ensure accurate cost reporting.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial statements for senior management.

Final Account:

  • Prepare and agree on the final account with the client and subcontractors, ensuring all variations and claims are settled fairly and promptly.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineer or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with proven experience on large-scale construction projects. Experience with data centers, pharmaceutical plants, power plants, or other mission-critical facilities is a significant advantage.
  • Highly skilled in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Fluency in English and Thai is essential, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
