Construction Manager
Job Description:
About the Company
Our client is a premier, international-standard project management consultancy with an impeccable track record of delivering complex projects on time and on budget. In an industry where cost overruns and delays are the norms, our client stands out by consistently executing seamless project delivery through data-driven processes and innovative management solutions.
We are seeking a highly driven, solutions-oriented Construction Manager to uphold their commitment to project excellence.
Role Overview
As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the physical execution of construction projects from inception to completion. You will serve as the crucial link between clients, consultants, sub-contractors, and site teams. True to our company ethos, you will not just flag problems—you will proactively orchestrate remedies to keep projects moving forward safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution: Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring strict alignment with international standards for time, quality, and budget.
Schedule & Progress Management: Work closely with project scheduling teams and advanced digital tools to monitor site progress, anticipate bottlenecks, and execute corrective strategies immediately.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Act as a trusted partner to clients, architects, engineers, and sub-contractors. Build and maintain collaborative, solution-focused relationships on-site.
Cost & Quality Control: Manage on-site resources, review construction methodologies, and implement strict quality control measures to prevent cost overruns and structural defects.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Ensure all site operations comply strictly with local regulatory requirements, corporate safety policies, and international best practices.
Contract & Risk Management: Review site variations, manage contract compliance among sub-contractors, and proactively mitigate risks before they impact the project timeline.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of proven experience in construction management or project management, preferably within a consultancy or reputable main contractor environment.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of construction methods, scheduling, contract management, and local building regulations in Malaysia.
Familiarity with modern project management software and digital site management tools (experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, or specialized construction tech platforms is highly advantageous).
Soft Skills:
A proactive, "find a remedy" mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage diverse on-site teams and sub-contractors.
What We Offer
