Position Summary
As a Shift Lead Engineer (A4 Chargeman), you will ensure the operational integrity of critical HV/LV electrical infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities include overseeing reactive and preventive maintenance, managing service providers, and ensuring strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining uptime and operational excellence within a critical facility environment.
Core Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Maintenance
- Coordinate and supervise all preventive and reactive maintenance work on high and low-voltage (HV/LV) electrical systems.
- Respond to, manage, and complete assigned service requests with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Oversee the day-to-day performance of service providers, including validating work completion and processing invoices.
- Generate and analyze weekly operational reports for management, highlighting incidents, performance against KPIs, and areas for improvement.
2. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Champion a safe working environment, ensuring 100% compliance with company and statutory HSE standards.
- Conduct and review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for all relevant tasks.
- Collaborate with the HSE team to implement and monitor safety procedures, including contractor inductions and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
3. Vendor & Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary on-site technical liaison for the client, visitors, and vendors.
- Cultivate strong professional relationships with service providers and client representatives to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Schedule and manage recurring vendor maintenance and coordinate ad-hoc minor projects.
4. Administrative & Technical Support
- Assist the Facilities Manager with task allocation, capital project procurement (PO creation), and material sourcing.
- Maintain accurate facility documentation, including AutoCAD floor plans for space planning and layouts.
- Train contractors and engineers on required systems, such as the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Support budget preparation, analysis, and variance reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- A4 Chargeman Certification from Suruhanjaya Tenaga or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Current registration as a Certified Electrical Worker (CEW).
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in engineering, maintenance, or construction services within critical environments (e.g., data centers, hospitals, semiconductor plants).
- Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems within a Tier III or equivalent critical facility.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE protocols, JHA, and PTW processes.
- Strong technical aptitude with proficiency in MS Office and CMMS software; experience with AutoCAD is an advantage.
