MEP Project Manager

 Job Description:

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly accountable and results-driven MEP Project Manager to take full ownership and leadership of complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be the primary person responsible for the project's overall success, ensuring delivery within the defined scope of safety, schedule, quality, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Initiation:

  • Develop comprehensive project implementation plans based on contract documents and client requirements.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings to align internal teams on project objectives, standards, and execution strategy.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and delegation of authority within the project team.

2. Project Execution & Delivery:

  • Oversee all project phases to ensure targets for safety, program, quality, and cost are rigorously met.
  • Manage and coordinate collaboration between design, engineering, testing, and after-sales functions.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments such as Procurement, Cost Control, and Finance to manage variations, claims, and final accounts, safeguarding project profitability.

3. Stakeholder & Communication Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining effective communication with all external stakeholders including clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure timely information flow to prevent misunderstandings and foster strong, professional relationships focused on successful delivery.

4. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing project team, fostering a culture of responsibility, capability, and cohesion.
  • Conduct thorough project reviews at key milestones to document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale construction projects, with at least 5 years in a dedicated MEP Project Manager or General Contracting Project Manager role, preferably within mission-critical or complex infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge/Skills:
    • Proven professional background and strong technical knowledge of MEP systems.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Outstanding organizational, coordination, and communication abilities.
    • Demonstrated experience in team management, subcontractor coordination, and client relationship management.
