Continuous Improvement Specialist

Position Overview

The Continuous Improvement Specialist plays a key role in optimizing manufacturing operations by improving processes, increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality. This role will leverage Lean Manufacturing principles, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on manufacturing experience, a strong understanding of Lean methodologies, and the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives from concept through execution. This individual will partner with teams across the organization to improve workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies to reduce waste, improve production flow, and optimize processes.
  • Design and implement process improvements that increase productivity and reduce defects.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align processes with operational goals and business objectives.
  • Analyze performance data, metrics, and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for manufacturing and assembly challenges.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including quality improvement projects and process optimization efforts.
  • Develop and deliver training on Lean methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Create and implement cost-saving initiatives through Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Develop process layouts, equipment workflows, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Support equipment installations, plant modifications, and process enhancements.
  • Establish and maintain 5S standards throughout production areas.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products meet safety and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with process improvement, project management, data analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work independently while also leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
