Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing all phases of litigation, from initiation to settlement or trial. Maintain and organize case files, documents, and evidence.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies. Summarize findings and prepare reports for attorney review.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas. Ensure accuracy and compliance with court rules and procedures.
  • Discovery: Assist in the discovery process, including the preparation and management of discovery requests and responses, document production, and deposition summaries.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, witnesses, and experts. Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, and depositions.
  • Trial Preparation: Organize and prepare trial materials, exhibits, and witness lists. Assist attorneys during trial, providing logistical and administrative support.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks such as calendaring, filing, and data entry. Assist with billing and timekeeping as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Paralegal certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of litigation processes and court procedures.
    • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
