AS400 iSeries Administrator

 Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced AS400 I-Series System Administrator to support applications and ensure seamless system performance. This role is responsible for system monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AS400/I-Series administration and application support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee system performance and ensure effective, efficient operations.
  • Troubleshooting & Reporting: Run and analyze reports to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Upgrades & Projects: Assist in system upgrades, implementations, and project-driven enhancements.
  • Incident Management & Support: Resolve system incidents, document resolutions, and provide ongoing support.
  • Change Control & Documentation: Test and migrate changes to the production environment while maintaining proper documentation.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure service reliability and support.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • I-Series (AS400) Administration: Strong knowledge of system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Banking Application Support: Experience supporting banking applications.
  • Application Processes & Troubleshooting: Ability to analyze, identify, and resolve system-related issues.
  • Patching & Updates: Experience managing application patches, updates, and ensuring system integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of core banking operations and related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated financial environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system management.
