Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations in a fast-paced retail environment. The CFO will oversee financial planning, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and investor relations, while supporting growth initiatives across multiple retail channels (e.g., brick-and-mortar, e-commerce).

This is a key leadership role responsible for aligning the companys financial strategy with its overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the companys retail business goals.
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to support short-term and long-term business planning and decision-making.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze financial performance, and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Drive profitability and margin optimization across product lines, store locations, and online channels.

Accounting and Compliance:

  • Oversee accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Manage external audits and relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and regulators.

Treasury and Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operations and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee banking relationships, capital expenditures, and funding strategies.

Retail-Specific Functions:

  • Support inventory management, cost control, and pricing strategies.
  • Partner with merchandising, supply chain, and store operations teams to improve financial efficiency.
  • Analyze customer behavior, sales trends, and seasonal impacts on financial performance.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 15-20+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in the retail sector (multi-location or omnichannel retail a plus).
  • Proven experience in financial planning, treasury, risk management, and corporate strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial systems (e.g., ERP systems, POS integration).
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
