- Quality Control: Ensure that all dairy products meet quality standards and comply with health, safety, and regulatory guidelines. This includes regular monitoring and testing of raw materials, products, and production processes.
- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Staff Management: Supervise and manage production teams, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation. Ensure staff adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor the inventory of raw materials and finished products, ensuring there is no shortage or surplus. Work with the purchasing department to ensure adequate stock.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, handling hazardous materials properly, and ensuring that all equipment is regularly maintained and functioning.
- Production Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demands while ensuring minimal downtime and optimal throughput.
- Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing the production departments budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining quality.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Address any production issues that arise and ensure quick resolutions, including machinery malfunctions or quality control problems.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production data, inventory, quality control tests, and other essential documents. Provide reports to senior management on production performance, costs, and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Agriculture, or a related field. Alternatively, relevant industry experience may be considered.
- Experience: Previous experience in food production or dairy management, with a strong understanding of dairy processing, equipment, and quality assurance.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills to guide and motivate production teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues in the production process and find effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, particularly in ensuring product quality and safety.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with dairy production equipment, processes, and relevant technologies.
