Title: Senior Accountant

Reporting to: Head of Accounting, based in Paris, France

  1. 1. Main responsibilities and tasks:

VAT

Import & customs clearance process

  • Communicate with local banks to issue Form #4 for the new shipments and make e-payment for VAT & WHT
  • Review clearance costs & invoices from clearance agents and costing of all cleared shipments
  • Settle the due amounts for our suppliers for all shipments at the relevant due dates
  • Record and track all bank charges & bank accounts movements
  • Handle the public security log and other requirements of civil defense authorities

Bank & cash

  • Follow-up on bank accounts cash movement
  • Identify VAT+ WHT TAX directly debited
  • Handle monthly report for the Accounting Department in Paris
  • Manage petty cash and record all expenses of the office

Accounting

  • Assist in annual tax return declaration
  • Declare annual WHT tax on customers (deduction)
  • Assist all requests related to the annual audit
  • Assist all suppliers payments (WHT tax deduction)
  • Check intragroup invoicing between the two companies
  • Candidates Profile:

Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years experience (experience in similar business will be a plus)
  • Excellent knowledge of Ms. Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent command in English (written & spoken)

  2. Office timings: Sunday to Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm
  3. Salary will depend on the candidates experience
  4. Vacation days: 21 business days
  5. Annual discretionary bonus on merit

  • Review on a monthly basis
  • Gather monthly receipts
  • Handle monthly declarations

Receivables

  • Handle customers accounts, payments (bank deposits or cheques), commercial invoices and related WHT
  • Follow-up WHT tax on customers
  • Gather WHT tax receipts for each invoice
  • File documentation

Payables

  • Review warehousing invoices from third parties: loading and unloading, trucking, storage costs, etc.
  • Process & follow-up on WHT tax on suppliers
  • Follow-up on AL BADR (advance payments - reconciliation)
  • Upload PDF invoices in ERP if necessary
  • Handle quarterly declaration

Admin

  • Manage admin tasks related to internal ERP (commercial)
  • Manage all admin tasks related to taxes (VAT, WHT, etc. )
  • Prepare all reports needed for companys head office
