Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Pastry / Bakery Commis Chef to join our bakery team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow in the field of pastry and baking. The Commis Chef will assist in the preparation of baked goods, ensuring high quality, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery and pastry section.
- Follow hygiene, health, and safety regulations always.
- Operate basic bakery equipment and ensure proper usage and maintenance.
- Store and handle ingredients properly to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
- Assist in plating and presentation of baked goods for display and service.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and learn new baking techniques.
Requirements:
- Some prior experience in a bakery at Five Stars Hotels & Restaurants
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Passion for baking and an eagerness to grow in the field.
