About the job warehouse Head
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Head is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and compliant storage, handling, and dispatch of food products. This role ensures all inventory management, quality control, safety, and food hygiene standards are upheld. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, industry-specific experience, and a deep understanding of food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, inventory control, and dispatch.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FSSAI, etc.) and company quality standards.

Maintain proper storage conditions to ensure product integrity (e.g., temperature, humidity control).

Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and maintain accurate records in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).

Implement and maintain FIFO/FEFO methods to ensure minimal product wastage and shelf-life compliance.

Plan and optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions for maximum efficiency.

Lead and train warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs, safety guidelines, and hygiene standards.

Liaise with procurement, production, and logistics departments to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.

Monitor and report on KPIs such as order accuracy, inventory turnover, and space utilization.

Ensure all equipment (forklifts, cold storage units, etc.) is maintained and operational.

Handle any discrepancies or issues in shipping/receiving promptly and professionally.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (preferred).

5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the food industry.

Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRC, FSSAI).

Proficiency in inventory and warehouse management systems (WMS/ERP).

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in cold storage environments when required.
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in HACCP or food safety.

Experience with automated warehouse systems.

Familiarity with export and logistics documentation in the food sector.
