We are looking for the next talent to join our client! They have 3 different locations around Egypt, and they are looking to kickstart your professional development as an Operations officer.

As an Operations Officer in their expanding dry bulk operations, you will be trained alongside your colleagues to come to hold an essential role in ensuring a high quality and flawless operation of our vessels and in meeting the demands of our customers. You will be in daily contact with several stakeholders such as captains, port agents, owners, charterers, and last but not least, your colleagues in offices. You will find yourself in a varied job in a busy and buzzing environment with an informal tone, where we encourage initiative and innovation.

We are looking for you!

You are at the beginning of your career looking to develop your knowledge of the shipping industry. We look for the right individual rather than specific competencies attitude and mindset matter.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing daily operations with due consideration to customer focus, voyage optimisation and stakeholder management
  • Close follow-up on voyage-related expenses
  • Visits to vessels, ports and customers
  • Participation in various operational projects
  • Providing operational insight to the chartering department to optimise future fixtures
  • Resolving operational challenges together with our in-house legal team and P&I club
  • Playing an important part in the support of our chartering team to ensure a cost-effective voyage execution

Qualifications:

You have an interest within shipping and the operational areas herein. You have an educational background relevant for the job tasks described above. You may have some experience through internships or have been sailing as part of your education or early start of your career.

You have excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset. You are a true team-player and, at the same time, able to work independently by taking ownership of your tasks. You take pride in delivering great service to our customers, and skills such as persistence, overview and a can-do attitude will support our ambition of being A partner you can trust.

Furthermore, we expect that you are/have:

  • A sense of urgency and keep deadlines without compromising quality
  • A self-starter who proactively contributes with ideas and solutions
  • Excellent IT skills that allow you to quickly acquire new skills in these fields
  • Appreciation of working in a multicultural environment; with English as our corporate language, fluency in English is a prerequisite
