 Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform the duties of a Workplace Safety and Health Officer in accordance to the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore and Corporate Safety and Sustainability requirements.
  • To ensure compliance of all the company's activities to the Corporate Safety and Sustainability requirements and local legislative requirements.
  • Perform a leadership role in resolving Safety and Sustainability related issues and providing advices to all levels of the organization
  • To establish, implement and maintain Safety and Sustainability requirements relevant to the company's activities.
  • To manage Safety and Sustainability documentations and submit Safety performance reports to the management and corporate level.
  • To identify opportunities for improvements, areas of concern within the company and ensure appropriate action is taken to improve the Safety and Sustainability performance.
  • To establish an effective risk management system through effective communication and review of the company's activities and implementing effective risk control measures.
  • To investigate any accidents, near-misses, occupational diseases and ensure the proper documentation and submission of investigation reports to the authorities, management and corporate levels.
  • To participate in Safety main and sub-committees meetings and inspections and function as a consultative and advisory role to the committees.
  • To develop and conduct Safety and Sustainability training relevant to the company's activities.
  • To manage medical surveillance programs such as audiometric test, medical examinations for lead, manganese exposures and review results of the test/examination, and ensure appropriate action is implemented to protect against excessive exposures.
  • To schedule and manage industrial hygiene monitoring programs for the company to ensure exposure to hazardous vapors, fumes or dust, or excessive noise is kept within the permissible limits.
  • To assist the company's Fire Safety Manager in executing his duties in accordance to the fire safety requirements.
  • To implement and maintain an effective Contractors' Management System and Visitors Orientation Program for the company.
  • To identify and track sources of waste and environmental emissions from the company's activities and ensure it is kept within the allowable limits.
  • To review through legal and other requirements and communicate the requirements to the effect parties.
  • To assist the Management Representative in maintaining and updating of Safety procedures, records and any other requirements.
  • To participate and conduct Safety audits to measure the Safety performance of the company,
  • To update the Safety notice board on a monthly basis.
  • To manage building projects, facilities issues and contractors on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum obtained a Specialist Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health from Ministry of Manpower or equivalent,
  • A registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Safety function in a manufacturing, repairs or service environment.
  • Knowledge of Safety principles, hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control, and Environmental aspects and impacts
  • Knowledge of WSH legal requirements and best practices
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 45001 requirements
  • Knowledge in Emergency Preparedness and Response Programs
  • Knowledge in Accident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Skill.
