Global Finance Controller

 Job Description:


As the Global Finance Controller, you will oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations worldwide. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, global compliance, financial reporting accuracy, and robust internal controls. You will lead the consolidation of international entities, manage audits, and partner cross-functionally to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Oversee global accounting functions, including financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and audit coordination across multiple countries.

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and consolidation processes across all subsidiaries and entities.

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop long-term financial strategies that align with business growth and expansion plans.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS as applicable.

  • Maintain global compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in all operating jurisdictions (e.g., SEC, IRS, VAT, customs duties).

  • Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors across regions.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems across global operations.

  • Monitor and mitigate financial and operational risks; enforce company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX (if applicable) and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a global finance team including regional controllers, accountants, and financial analysts.

  • Build capabilities across geographies; establish scalable finance operations in support of international expansion.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Systems & Process Optimization

  • Oversee ERP system utilization (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle); lead process improvement initiatives to automate and optimize finance workflows.

  • Champion technology adoption in finance functions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and data visibility.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA or equivalent professional certification.

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a global or multinational organization.

  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.

  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and global financial reporting.

  • Prior experience managing audits and working with external auditors.

Preferred

  • Experience in the luxury goods, fashion, or jewelry industry.

  • ERP systems expertise (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

  • Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or MBA.

  • Familiarity with international tax, customs, and transfer pricing.
