Job Overview/ Purpose of the Role

The AM Product Engineer is responsible for product design & engineering and project management to develop new products that meet company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research vehicle equipment options to ensure new product development suits all versions of target application.
• Measurement & analysis of OEM and AM competitor samples.
• Design AM products to meet / exceed OEM. Spec. & AM customer requirement.
• Management of internal and external sources through RFQ, Design and PPAP phases.
• Support prototype, tool try out and PPAP build activities.
• Fitment & ride testing of off tool samples.
• Prepare Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) / Bills of Material (BOMs) / Drawings for new products and design changes.
• Preparation of data for use in Product Catalogues.
• Support requests from internal and external customers for additional engineering information.
• Providing engineering support for production, quality control and problem solving.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities.
• Support ongoing compliance and certification to quality, environmental and safety standards (ISO 9001 / IATF16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelors Degree of Engineering in Mechanical or related field.
• Ability to use CAD software
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Mechanical engineering knowledge must be of a high order.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English

Preferred

• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in design engineering in automotive.
• Understanding of AM development process
• Negotiation and persuasion skills.
• A passion for motor vehicles / automotive industry

Additional Advantage

• Prior experience on shock absorber products
• Experience in direct dealing with AM customers
