Job Purpose
This role leads a team responsible for the daily execution of operational processes within the Operations Department, ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing, settlement, and other key functions.
The Team Leader will focus on maintaining high-quality service, adhering to established controls, and contributing to a positive and productive team environment.
This role also strengthens Operational Risk Management and Control within the Operations Department, which will develop and maintain a comprehensive risk assessment framework, identify and evaluate potential risks, and monitor the effectiveness of existing controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
This includes conducting regular risk assessments, preparing risk matrix reports, participating in audits and regulatory inspections, staying abreast of regulatory changes, updating process controls accordingly, and implementing risk and control training for staff.

Key Accountabilities
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of operations professionals. Oversee daily work allocation, provide guidance and support, and conduct performance reviews. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Risk Management Framework Development and Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain a robust operational risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and methodologies for risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring.
- Risk Assessment and Analysis: Conduct regular risk assessments, analyze potential vulnerabilities, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies. Prepare risk matrix reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Control Monitoring and Testing: Monitor the effectiveness of existing controls, perform regular testing, and identify areas for improvement. Ensure controls are updated to reflect regulatory changes and internal policy updates.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of relevant regulations and ensure operations are compliant. Collaborate with Compliance and Risk Management teams. Participate in regulatory inspections and audits.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff awareness of operational risk and control best practices. Promote a strong risk and control culture within the department.
- Reporting and Escalation: Timely reporting and escalation of risk events, ensuring completeness and accuracy of reported information. Track and monitor issues and action plans arising from RCSA, risk events, KRIs, audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with various business functions to achieve business objectives. Effectively communicate risk-related information to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational risk management practices and drive continuous improvement within the department.
Responsibilities
- To develop and implement operational strategies in collaboration with the various business functions to achieve business objectives, as well as to strengthen Operational Risk Management and Control within the Operations Department.
- Operational Leadership: Lead and manage a team responsible for transaction processing, settlement, and other operational functions. Establish and implement operational policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of operations professionals. Oversee staffing plans, recruitment, and training. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all operational processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and assess operational risks; identify potential vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Promote risk and control awareness, including ensuring the relevant training is conducted to strengthen Ops control awareness.
- Identify key risk areas and/or trends and build a robust framework that enables effective risk and control management in the fraud and potential risk issues, as well as to share operational risk management learnings and best practices.
- Timely report/escalate risk events and review risk events reported by the unit to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Track and monitor issues and action plans arising from RCSA, Risk events, KRI, audit, and regulatory inspections.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures by working closely with Compliance and Risk management team.
- Customer Service: Ensure high-quality service delivery to internal and external customers.
- Process improvement: Streamline processes, enhance efficiency. Optimize workflows and processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Integrate new technologies and business processes as needed. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Technology Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of operational systems to enhance operational capabilities.
- Reporting and Analytics: Provide insights and reports to senior management on operational performance. Implement quality assurance measures on processes and monitor KPIs.
- Lead business continuity planning and risk mitigation efforts.
- Provide leadership in planning and management department budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with Local and Regional stakeholders for any project requirements/assignments.
Qualification Required

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in banking operations, with a strong focus on risk management and control.
- Strong understanding of Brokerage Securities Operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven expertise in operational risk management, including risk assessment, control design and testing, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with process improvement and re-engineering methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer focus and service orientation
