Assistant Director Supply Chain

 Job Description:

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Assistant Director Supply Chain to support and enhance our supply chain operations in Guangzhou, China.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director Supply Chain will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations in our Guangzhou manufacturing and sourcing hub. This position requires strong leadership, analytical thinking, and operational experience in supply chain planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure materials, components, and finished goods are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Planning & Strategy

Assist in developing and implementing supply chain strategies to support manufacturing and global distribution.

Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and sales projections.

Support long-term supply planning to mitigate risk and improve resilience.

Procurement & Vendor Management

Oversee procurement of raw materials (metals, stones, findings, packaging, etc.) in collaboration with sourcing teams.

Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to achieve optimal cost and value.

Logistics & Inventory Management

Manage inbound and outbound logistics, customs clearance, and international shipping coordination.

Monitor and optimize inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production without overstocking.

Work with warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock records and inventory control processes.

Process Improvement & Compliance

Identify process bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, international trade regulations, and local laws.

Support sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives in line with Gabriel & Co.s brand values.

Team Collaboration & Reporting

Collaborate closely with manufacturing, planning, finance, and sales teams both locally and globally.

Prepare and present supply chain performance reports, KPIs, and cost analysis to senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Masters degree or certification (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus.

7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 10 years in a leadership or assistant director role.

Experience in the luxury goods or jewelry sector preferred, but not required.

Strong knowledge of global sourcing, vendor negotiations, logistics, and ERP systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
