Deputy General Manager, Information Systems

 Job Description:

The Deputy General Manager, Information Systems (DGMIS) supports the strategic direction, service delivery, and operational performance of the companys information systems across its global shipping and logistics network. The role is accountable for ensuring high service standards, stakeholder satisfaction, and continuous improvement in IT systems that drive efficiency, compliance, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee IT service delivery across business units to ensure system reliability, responsiveness, and user satisfaction.

  • Manage stakeholder engagement with internal departments, port and logistics operators, and external partners to align IT initiatives with operational needs.

  • Support the development and execution of the companys IT and digital strategy in alignment with overall business goals.

  • Monitor service performance through defined KPIs and SLAs, ensuring timely resolution of issues and proactive improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to prioritize IT projects that enhance service quality, productivity, and customer experience.

  • Lead initiatives on system integration, process automation, and digital transformation across shipping and logistics platforms (ERP, CRM, TOS, and supply chain systems).

  • Manage IT infrastructure, network performance, and application support to maintain system stability and scalability.

  • Strengthen vendor management and ensure partners deliver consistent, high-quality services aligned with contractual obligations.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, data protection regulations, and maritime IT guidelines (IMO, ISO).

  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning to minimize operational disruptions.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to IT service and support teams.

  • Track industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements in service delivery and system capability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 1015 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or service deliveryfocused leadership role.

  • Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships across global or multi-site operations.

  • Strong understanding of shipping, logistics, or supply chain systems and operational workflows.

  • Demonstrated success in service delivery management, vendor governance, and performance improvement programs.

  • Experience with ERP, CRM, and shipping management systems is essential.

  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance frameworks, and IT risk management.
