Trade Operator Physical Bulk Commodities

Job Summary

COMET, based in 5th Settlement, Cairo, is recognized for its leadership in physical commodities trading. They are currently looking for two Junior Trade Operators to support and execute end-to-end trade operations, focusing on physical bulk commodities such as metals, energy, and dry bulk. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with global exposure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute trade transactions from start to finish

  • Draft and review sales and purchase contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Coordinate shipment logistics, vessel nominations, and laytime calculations

  • Handle all trade documentation including bills of lading, letters of credit, and customs paperwork

  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, agents, and internal stakeholders

  • Enforce contract terms, Incoterms, and regulatory standards

  • Monitor cargo movement and resolve operational or supply chain issues

  • Support finance in accurate invoicing and payment tracking

  • Address trade-related disputes and manage demurrage or claims

  • Stay up-to-date with global freight trends and regulatory updates

Key Requirements

Education: Bachelors degree in International Trade, Business, or related field
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in trade operations, especially in physical bulk commodities
Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of international trade logistics, Incoterms, and documentation

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, trade execution platforms, and Microsoft Office

  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
    Language: Excellent command of English
    Preferred Qualities: Fast learner, flexible, strong soft skills
    Gender Preference: Female candidates preferred
    Age Limit: Maximum 30 years
