Job Overview

The Workshop QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all quality‑control functions within the workshop to ensure accurate, safe, and professional service delivery. The role includes supervising workshop staff, managing workflow and traffic movement, enforcing safety and compliance standards, monitoring SWAT system usage, and ensuring consistent service excellence. The QC Supervisor also manages tool/equipment inspections, customer issue resolution, and adherence to workplace policies, while supporting productivity and continuous improvement across the workshop. Must be based in Pretoria and/or surrounding areas.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience in a workshop environment
  • Advanced knowledge of tyres, wheels, and accessories
  • Tyre failure analysis expertise
  • Wheel alignment and undercarriage knowledge
  • Customer care and service‑relations experience
  • Ability to read and write clearly and accurately
  • Strong technical problem‑solving and diagnostic capability

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong workshop traffic‑flow coordination and supervisory capability
  • Knowledge of SWAT workflow and ability to monitor jobs in real time
  • High attention to detail regarding safety‑critical procedures (wheel assembly, alignment, undercarriage fitment)
  • Strong organisational and follow‑up skills
  • Ability to analyse and resolve technical problems on vehicles
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Conflict‑resolution and complaint‑handling ability
  • Ability to coach, guide and support workshop staff
  • High levels of physical fitness and strength for operational tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Technical Oversight

  • Monitor and enforce safe, correct wheel assembly, alignment and undercarriage fitment procedures
  • Conduct product failure analysis and recommend corrective action
  • Ensure professional and safe use of workshop tools and equipment
  • Perform regular inspections and ensure tool calibration routines are executed

Workflow & Traffic Management

  • Coordinate vehicle movement on and off bays
  • Maintain smooth workflow and assist with traffic control during peak periods
  • Follow up on overdue jobs and drive timely completion
  • Discourage time‑wasting and optimise technician productivity

SWAT Workflow & Administration

  • Oversee accurate logging and usage of the SWAT system
  • Monitor time and attendance; ensure real‑time processing
  • Track job progression and ensure compliance with SWAT workflow standards

Customer Interaction & Service Excellence

  • Manage customer queries, technical issues and complaints
  • Provide accurate advice and maintain professional communication
  • Ensure customer updates on job status
  • Uphold company service‑excellence standards

Staff Supervision & Conduct

  • Enforce company policies, procedures and safety regulations
  • Maintain discipline, ethical behaviour and professionalism among staff
  • Ensure staff wear correct uniforms and PPE at all times
  • Communicate procedural requirements clearly and consistently

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe and hazard‑free bay area
  • Enforce PPE requirements and safe working practices
  • Report workplace hazards, faulty equipment or safety concerns
  • Support implementation of pandemic‑related protective measures

General

  • Perform security‑related functions when required
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and equipment storage standards
  • Support newly appointed staff through technical guidance
