Master Data Manager
Job Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Master Data Manager to optimize and oversee the management of product and supplier master data, ensuring strict adherence to standard operating procedures, data governance standards, anti-corruption measures, and financial control requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of supplier information, which is vital for efficient procurement and smooth business operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Alignment: Ensure product and supplier data management practices are aligned with organizational goals, such as cost reduction, enhancing supply chain resilience, and supporting sustainability initiatives.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Assist the supply chain and procurement teams by providing accurate and up-to-date supplier information, supporting supplier performance evaluations, and facilitating contract implementation.
- Data Quality Assurance: Regularly audit and validate supplier data to maintain its accuracy and consistency.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, external service providers, and IT departments to resolve master data issues and collect reliable supplier information.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.
- Risk Management: Identify and minimize risks associated with inaccurate supplier data, compliance issues, and governance breaches.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that supplier data management complies with relevant regulations, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and financial controls.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for supplier data management processes and standards.
- Training and Support: Offer training and support to team members and other departments on best practices for supplier data management.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze reports to monitor supplier data quality, performance, and compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related field (NQF 7). Post-graduate qualifications (NQF 8) and certifications in Operations Management, Analytics, Business Process Management, or Lean/Six Sigma are a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing procurement master data and leading a team. Experience with data management and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, SAGE, COUPA) is essential.
