Senior Business Development Executive
Job Description:
Position Overview:
Seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building new business within the Automotive, Agriculture, and Retail industries. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent commercial acumen who can drive sales by demonstrating the return on investment (ROI) for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the Automotive, Agriculture, and Retail sectors.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve growth targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.
- This is a consultative selling approach where you will have access to pre-sales support within the business to develop a value proposition and ROI for the client
Sales Management:
- Lead a team of three direct reports: one salesperson based in Johannesburg, one in Cape Town, and one in Nelspruit.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to the sales team to ensure high sales performance and deal closure.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and set individual targets in line with company goals.
Client Engagement:
- Engage with clients to understand their business needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Focus on selling the return-on-investment opportunity rather than just features and functions.
- Negotiate and close sales deals to meet or exceed targets.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to drive business growth.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance and market conditions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in business development within the Automotive, Agriculture, and Retail industries.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to sell the return-on-investment opportunity.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, managing a sales team and achieving targets.
- Based in Centurion, with the flexibility to travel as needed.
